Freedom & Portage sectional results

Josh Onwunili will get his shot at a WIAA state title next weekend.


Campbellsport's senior sprinter punched his ticket to state with wins in the 100- and 200-meter dashes at the Freedom Sectional hosted at Appleton North on Thursday. Teammate Evan Wilcox was runner-up in both hurdles events and also clinched a state berth.


Cougars' pole vaulter Sienna Hewitt is currently one of the top-two vaulters in the state in the division.


WLA's boys qualified for next weekend in five events; Laconia's girls will compete in four events.

Mayville and Lomira competed at the Portage Sectional. Lions' junior Austin Zinn was the only competitor from either school to advance to state. Zinn won the high jump with a leap of 6-feet, 4-inches.
