Mayville, Lomira represent Flyway in WFSCA poll

Mayville and Lomira are both undefeated in Flyway play so far this season and the coaches in the state have recognized their strong starts.


In the week two Wisconsin Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association poll, the Cardinals dropped one spot in the Division 3 rankings to No. 3 and the Lions held steady at No. 5.


Mayville (3-1 overall, 2-0 in Flyway) lost its first game of the season on Monday 5-3 against D2 No. 4 Jefferson.


Lomira (6-0, 3-0) leads the Flyway in run differential. The Lions have averaged 11 runs per game and have given up just three to start their season.


In D2, Campbellsport fell out of the rankings. Last week, the Cougars were No. 10, but suffered their first loss of the season 9-0 on Friday to Oakfield, which is No. 2 in D5.


Campbellsport (4-1, 3-0) is tied with Lomira at the top of the conference.
