Six Flyway players participate in WFSCA all-star game

Six seniors from Mayville, Laconia, North Fond du Lac and Winnebago Lutheran showcased their talents one last time in their high school uniforms at the Wisconsin Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association all-star game on Tuesday in the Wisconsin Dells.

All-Star Selections (R-L): Hayden Schabel, Hannah Wolf, Addy Youngbeck, Addison Maurer, Lauren Stettbacher, Averie Suprenand

Mayville had three participants with Hayden Schabel, Hannah Wolf and Addy Youngbeck. The other three schools each had one representative: Addison Maurer from Laconia, NFDL's Lauren Stettbacher and Averie Suprenand of WLA.

Each senior was nominated by her coach and selected based off of her softball accomplishments throughout their high school career, according to the WFSCA website.

All six Flyway participants were selected to play on the same team: The Division 2/3 Blue Team, which was coached by Kaelyn Hogan from D2 state qualifier New Berlin Eisenhower.

Each senior selected is also required to raise money, a portion of which goes to the Special Olympics. The six combined to raise more than $2,200. All senior participants were honored at an awards banquet on Monday evening.

Thank you to WLA's Averie Suprenand for sending in the images for the story.
