Springs golf wins at White Lake

St. Mary's Springs golf won its ninth-straight Flyway conference championship on Thursday at White Lake Golf Course in Montello.


The Ledgers shot 336, which was eight strokes better than runner-up Campbellsport.


Tyler Hoffmann, a junior, finished second individually and led Springs with an eight-over, 80. Hoffmann shot a 38 on the back, making just three bogeys and adding a birdie on the par-3 14th hole.


Jameson Ahern shot an 82, finishing tied for fourth with four other golfers. The lone senior in the Ledgers' lineup was steady, carding 11 pars on the day.


Sophomore Ben Baker and junior Khalil Rebek each finished with 87. Baker had a birdie on the back nine.


Campbellsport was led by junior Trevor Schanen and senior Caden Vollendorf. The pair shot 82 and 84, respectively and both finished inside the top-10 individually.


The top-seven featured golfers from six different schools. Lomira's Preston Jung was the medalist, shooting a 79.
